SCHOOL COUNSELING
Hi! My name is Supriya Parks and I am excited and honored to be at Walker Elementary supporting our wonderful students and families as your school counselor! Here at Walker, we have a school culture that encompasses respect, kindness, acceptance, and success for all. There is no greater feeling in the world than having a career that I love and allows me to leave such a positive impact on so many people.
What School Counselors Do:
Elementary school counselors offer a comprehensive school-based counseling approach for all students. All students are welcome to meet and talk to the counselor. The counselor provides services to the entire school through guidance lessons and school-wide programs. Students may also work with the school counselor in a small group to develop positive social and emotional skills. Teachers and parents are also welcome to discuss student concerns with the counselor to problem solve and develop strategies to support success.
