STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Dress Guidelines:
- All students and staff are expected to uphold high standards of conduct and appearance. Clothing should be suitable and comfortable for normal school activities and should reflect the respect, pride, and standards of the student's home and community.
- General clothing standards for all children require that shoes must be worn at all times with appropriate socks or stockings.
- Clothing should not cause distractions to the learning environment and should not be hazardous to wear when playing on the blacktop or participating in PE.
- The principal may approve exceptions to the dress code for unusual situations or for specific events, such as spirit days.
Do Not Bring:
- Pets and other animals are only permitted at schools when needed for instructional purposes and when under the strict control of qualified instructors and handlers.
- Toys, games, trading cards, electronics, etc. are not allowed as they are distractions to learning and often result in lost or broken possessions. Theft of loss of such items will not be investigated by school personnel.
- Chewing gum is not allowed on school grounds.
- Cell phones and other electronic signaling devices may only be used before school begins, after school ends, and during emergency situations. These devices must be kept out of sight and turned off during instruction and in the classroom. School officials and staff may take devices away from students for inappropriate use. Repeated unauthorized use of such devices may lead to disciplinary action. Students bring such devices at their own risk to theft or loss.
